better

a few weeks ago i started on this slow slope downwards into a rut that climaxed two wednesdays ago. i felt really bad and i didn't know where to place it or why i was feeling that way. everything was fine. school was alright, friends were awesome, family was okay, paul and i were doing wonderfully, but nonetheless i still felt sad.

today was so beautiful outside, it was about 70 degrees, sunny, and with a breeze. i had a test in management today, and even though it was a little bit harder than i expected, i think it's safe to say i'm feeling leagues better. i have another test thursday which i'm pretty scared about, just because of the sheer volume of information that it's covering. hopefully i can pass that one. i need to. i'm scared though.

paul's birthday is also on thursday which i'm excited about, he's turning 23! i have a big surprise planned out for him on saturday, which i'm super super excited about and i just hope that it doesn't rain. i'm not gonna put any details on here either if in some case he's reading this (in which case... hi.).

anyway, i'm excited about this weekend and hopefully i can be superwoman tomorrow and study a ton. today i got a new camera in the mail and i'm so stoked to start taking it everywhere with me. i also (as you can see) had a little self-portrait therapy at the end of my asthma study session. i like it, especially since i haven't taken proper photos of myself in a while.

cheers!

easy

Today’s just one of those kind of days where you sit in your room soaking up vitamin D, study a bit, listen to some good music, do some laundry, take pictures of your hair and contemplate about why the Oscars were so underwhelming.

I'm getting a lot of studying done, and I'm happy. I got a lot of stuff off my chest a few days ago and had a good cry, which is always really quite hard for me to do. I'm not the kind of person to express my feelings openly, especially my deep ones.

Tomorrow is March. Love new beginnings. Tomorrow I start training for a 5k with Marylou. I'm gonna start working on a study playlist since a handful of people want one. Got coffee from places outside my home for the best three days, I think it's gonna be a good week.

yet again

My blogspot is turning into a purely sushi and nail polish blog. Attempting to change that at the bottom of this post! But for now, here are some more photos of some really good sushi I had the pleasure of getting with some friends after class on Thursday. Can't stop till ya get enough.

Got some weird looks taking this. I wish asking people to take pictures of me wasn't so... awkward. So for now, I'm just gonna stick to my tripod.

vintage skirt (worn as a dress), mossimo cardigan, coach belt, thrifted huarache sandals

Such a good hair day. I wish it never ended.

a bit of new

Sorry it took me so long to throw this post up, my Flickr pro account expired and I just realized how much I actually use my pro capabilities to just upload masses and masses of pictures. Anyway, these pictures are a little over a week old. Some warmer weather was coming through but now it's back to freezing temperatures so I'm pulling on my peacoat again! It's supposed to snow (!!!) this Friday?! Houston, don't let me down.

So I got a new pair of BDG's the other day (well, they're new to me) and I'm surprised at how much I love them... I actually am thinking about buying another pair in the very near future. Was itching for some new heels while out with Jackie last Friday night and we ended up buying the same pair (typical). I just want the weather to warm up so I can properly wear them!

burning bush supper club

"I'm so excited!" should probably be the phrase of the day. We had our first "lab" day today, which meant having a lab orientation for an hour and then being let out super early. Last night I burned 5 CDs ⎯ two Cudi albums, two Bon Iver albums, and one Kanye album ⎯ for Marylou, Beverly, and Ben respectively. I think it's safe to say that giving music to other people is on my list of favorite things to do. And speaking of music, I finally got my hands on the new Bear Hands album! Case in point, SUPER EXCITED.

Never have I seen so many cute little Asian goods packed into one store! Basically everything in the store was $2 unless marked otherwise. I ended up getting myself a cream-coloured (typical) bento box, a tiny fork for my bento, and an insanely cute floral mug (see below). Marylou, Anna and I went to go get lunch afterwards at a sandwich place. I ended up knitting for Anna a bit.

(Seriously good coffee)

I did Marylou's nails last night. Pretty sure I'm going to end up doing this on myself again very soon.

My textbooks came in the mail today! Thank goodness for overnight shipping, seriously. I don't know what I'd do with myself if I had to wait to read another day.

Tried out the newspaper nails last night right on top of Essie's Eternal Optimist. It ended up showing a little fainter than I expected, but I did wash my hands before I put on a topcoat. Oh well.

forever 21 top & denim leggings, mossimo cardigan, thrifted belt, alfani boots, ecote rucksack

I don't mean to sound toolish, but I really am loving life so much lately. I feel so much more complete with school underway. And trying to really appreciate everything in my life is really making me realize how great it is. I'm cherishing it.

berripop

Wilbur called and woke me up to have lunch with him and Anthony on Monday.

We had La Madeleine for lunch, and then went to Berripop for froyo. Froyo in 40-degree weather! Obviously geniuses.

Always got my eye on the blueberries.
